Thursday, September 10 (Austin): The SBOT Appellate Section will celebrate the life of Russell Hugh “Rusty” McMains at our Annual Meeting on Thursday, September 10 at 4:50 p.m. at the Four Seasons in Austin. We welcome your ideas for an appropriate honor in his memory. Please send your recommendations to Marcy Greer at mgreer@fulbright.com. We hope you have time to read a tribute to Rusty. This tribute is based on the eulogy delivered at Rusty’s funeral in Corpus Christi, Texas, on July 2, 2009, by his friend, William J. Chriss.

Thursday, October 1, 4:30-6:00 p.m. (Omni Hotel, Fort Worth): The Appellate Sections of the Dallas, Tarrant and Collin County Bar Associations jointly present Practice Tips from the Clerk’s Office and A Candid Conversation Between Appellate Judges and Lawyers. A panel presentation by the Clerks of the Dallas and Fort Worth Courts of Appeals, followed by an hour long panel discussion involving Justices from both Courts and respected appellate practitioners.
