Greg Coleman
received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law with
high honors and was Managing Editor of the Texas Law Review, as well as a
member of the Chancellors High Society.
He clerked for Chief Judge Edith Jones on the United States Court of
Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and for Justice Clarence Thomas on the Supreme
Court of the United States. He
thereafter practiced at the Austin office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP,
where he headed the firm’s national Supreme Court and appellate practice. He later served as the first Solicitor
General of the State of Texas and was hired as a partner at Yetter Coleman LLP,
where he handled appeals across a broad legal spectrum. He appeared frequently before the Supreme
Court of the United States, holding the distinction of having argued the most
cases of any lawyer in Texas. He worked
as an adjunct professor at the South Texas College of Law and at the University
of Texas School of Law and frequently lectured on current legal topics. He served as part of many legal organizations,
volunteered to handle legal matters on a pro bono basis, and served as a mentor
to many young lawyers no doubt hoping to follow in his footsteps.
