Royal H. Brin, Jr., was a pioneer in Texas appellate practice and served as appellate counsel in over 350 cases. His practice spanned more than fifty years. Born in Dallas, Brin attended the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa as an undergraduate and later Order of the Coif from UT Law School. He earned the highest grade average in the Law School’s history, was a Grand Chancellors member, and was Editor in Chief of the Texas Law Review. He earned a graduate fellowship at Harvard Law School and served in the Navy during World War II. He then joined the law firm Strasburger, Price, Kelton, Miller & Martin (now Clark Hill Strasburger), in Dallas, where he practiced for seventy-four years. Brin was a Fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, ABA Tort and Insurance Practice Section Chair, Texas Association of Defense Counsel President, and an exam writer for the first Texas Board-certification exam in Civil Appellate Law. |
